Meeting the Big Man

It should be no secret to anyone that we've been amazingly good this year. We thought this fact alone would get us past the bouncers and straight to Mr. Clause, but turns out it's not that easy. We were pretty patient while all the other kids had their turn, but when we got to see the Man himself we froze up. No one told us how cool that beard is in person and we couldn't take our eyes off of it!

Only a few days until we see if he's bringing us all the goods we asked for!

Bowls and Spoons

We ate with a bowl and spoon for the first time today. SOME of us handled it beautifully and hardly spilled a drop. Others of us... not so much. See if you can guess who was the perfect and proper eater and who could have used a bath after breakfast was over.

At least he's using the spoon here!

Doesn't one boy stand out as the good one today? I sure think so!

All We Want For Christmas Part II

Brittany decided that today would be a good day to try (again) and get pictures of our new teeth to show you all and it became a little bit of an adventure. As you'll see, we had lots of fun, though!

First up was Patrick:
No eyes, but decent teeth shot!

See it peeking through on the right?

You may think I'm smiling for Brittany, but it's definitely for the bottle.

Are they hiding in there?

Finally a good view of the chompers!

Now for Aidan, who may or may not have made it more difficult:
Are you looking for teeth, or snot?

Not your best joke. Try again.

My teeth are being coy for the camera!

Who's aiming this thing?

Tada! Two handsome front teeth!

So there you have it. We got our front teeth! Now, where are those presents?

10 Months Old!

That's right world, as of yesterday we are now 10 months old! Here's a little snapshot of what we're like these days:

We're both:

  • standing and pulling ourselves up on everything!
  • learning to like big people food more and more.
  • napping like champs
  • becoming more curious and getting into everything that we can
  • still love bath time - splashing is so much fun!
  • crawling all over the place
  • the proud owners of four teeth - two on top and two on the bottom
  • not good at sharing
  • very unhappy when you change our diapers, until you remind us that our toes and our tummies are hiding under our clothes!
Now for me - Patrick!

I am:
  • chewing on everything
  • still a big fan of all things that spin
  • as ticklish as they come!
  • driving everyone crazy with my caveman grunt that I like to do all the time
  • great at pulling Aidan's hair (or anyone's for that matter) and getting what I want
  • loving bananas, yogurt, Cheerios, and big crackers that I can suck on
  • great at finding lots of little buttons to push on
  • Mr. Smiley!
  • a big fan of pulling over the toy buckets so I have the whole gamut of toys to pick from!
  • a great kisser! I love to pull people in for a big wet one!
Don't forget about me - Aidan!

I am:
  • a boy who likes to stand! If I had it my way I would stand all day long
  • officially a self feeder! Just this week I figured out how to get food in my mouth and it is great.
  • a big fan of bananas, cheese, Cheerios, peas and carrots
  • one funny man! I love to make crazy faces and jiggle my head around like I'm a bobble head
  • a clapping maniac most days
  • a great reader. I love my books!
  • a trouble maker at nap time. I love to stand up in my crib and tell stories or sing songs that keep Patrick up
  • figuring out that Patrick was right that jumping in our jumperoo is really fun!
  • quite the talker. I can say "more" and "nana" (which means banana, at least until Nana comes back from that warm place) and "milk"
  • the world champion drooler
We sure are growing up fast!

Swinging in Minnesota in December

With all the snow, we decided to "swing" indoors in our rocker. Aidan thought it was the funniest thing he'd ever heard when Brittany would say "WEEE!".

This would be the best picture in the world, but that flash gets us every time!

Aidan was having a little more fun than me.

Whew! All this swinging really wore me out!

Let is Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!

Merry Christmas!

We've been hiding a secret... we're helping out Santa this year! Enjoy watching us whistle while we work!

Guess what I did today? I took my first few creeps (lunges? movements?) forward on my knees with my belly off the ground! I'm pretty excited about it. Here's an action shot:

Pretty cool, huh! I'm so proud of myself that I've been smiling all day. Brittany tried to get a picture of my big grins, but I like to make it hard on her.

I guess you get the idea. It's so fun to be learning all these new things!

Okay, I guess we should mention Patrick, too. How are you feeling with all those new teeth?

I know. These teeth are no fun. Maybe we should be getting money from that fairy lady for growing them. I think it's much harder to grow teeth than it is to lose them! So watch out tooth fairy - we're coming to get you!

Happy Wednesday!

It's on

That's right, ladies and gentlemen. It's time for

(cue dramatic music)

The Great Tooth Race!

In the blue corner, sporting his handsome curls and fearless blue eyes, is Patrick!

Do you have anything to say, Patrick?

Don't speak too soon! Victory is not yours yet!

And in the green corner, sporting the serious look and drool stained shirt, is Aidan!

How about you, Aidan? Anything you'd like to say?

Ah, the strong silent type. Good tactic.

And now for the scores. What a shocker - we have a tie!! Both boys come in with two teeth on the bottom and two teeth on the top! Now, someone go get the teethers out of the freezer so we can properly reward these boys!

Stay tuned - something tells us these new teeth may be bringing friends later this week!

Christmas came early!

We were told that all we were supposed to ask for for Christmas was our two front teeth. Well, I must have been extra good this year because today they were delivered! Santa must not be totally on his game yet though, because I got one front tooth on top and one side tooth on top. I guess it's close enough though.

Now that my Christmas wish is filled, I guess you'll all just have to give me toys. Aidan doesn't have his two front teeth yet, though, so I'll take his toys too. You don't want to have him getting too many things at once!

Stand by me

Ladies, the line forms to the left.

Oh, and although the pictures may seem to show otherwise, Aidan is in fact not drunk. It's the flash. No really. We swear. (Except we don't swear because we're too sweet)
