First Day of School!!

It's official - we're big boyz! Today was our first day of school (meaning, a daycare/preschool combination) and we had so much fun! Our classroom has a mouse in it named Hammy and we got to play with her and even help change her water bottle. We are at the older end of our class so we got to be good helpers with all the other kids. When Britty and our new friend, Andrea, came to pick us up our teacher told them that she wished she had 10 kids just like us because we were so great!

Things are really changing around here. We can't wait for Thursday so we can go back and play at school again!

Another baby gymnastics graduation!

Few kids can say they've already graduated three times before they were even two and a half, but seeing that we are always striving to be over achievers, we CAN say that! Today we had our third (and final, at least for the foreseeable future) baby gymnastics graduation. Our previous two, last summer and the end of last year, were at one center, but that closed down in January so this graduation was from a different gym (same company, different branch). We had to drive farther to get to this one, but we had lots and lots of fun and it was a great way to use up our plentiful energy this winter! Here's some snippets of what we learned and what we can do:

Aidan learned how to do a forward roll all by himself this semester! He loves to do them on the wedge thing because he can go really fast. He hardly even uses his arms to steady himself!


P learned lots of things, but all he felt like showing off was how to get up on all fours on the bar. He has been known to walk up and down the bar like this (called a "bear walk") but today he wasn't in the mood to show you! :)



The boys each got called up to receive a medal and hear about all the wonderful things their teacher has noticed about them!

A quick picture of the boyz on their favorite piece of equipment: the bars! Aidan can get his feet all the way up on the bars and balance there - what a strong boy! P can almost get his feet up there too, but again, was not in a showy mood today! :)

Last Day of School

Today we had our last day of school. We go to school one day a week for two hours. The first hour we play with Brittany, make projects about the day's theme, and have circle time where we sing songs and learn more about the day's theme. The second hour, Brittany goes away with the other moms and they talk about things like potty training, discipline and sleeping while we get more play time with our teachers and friends. When we first started school in September, we cried the whole time Brittany would leave and hated being away from our comfort zone. We would hold our little blankies and cry in the corner until she came back. Aidan, especially, was really really shy and didn't talk at all. Now, we LOVE school and do so well when Brittany leaves! We talk to our teachers and love playing with our friends. We have grown up so much over the year and we are pretty darn proud of ourselves for it! School has been a great learning time and we are sad to see it end. We hope we are in the same class with all of our friends next year!

TWO!

Today was are the big two years old!!

We've had a very fun day so far. We had a Valentines Day party this morning at school with all of our friends, and we've been getting to eat all of our favorite things. After school, Nana and Papa called and we got to talk to them. They even sang us happy birthday! While we were taking a tubby, Grandpa called, too! We're having a great day and can't wait for Mom and Dad to get home so we can celebrate more with them, too.

This weekend we got to have a party with some of our family and friends. We got some really great presents and had a really fun time playing with our cousins!

Then it was time for cake! Britty made us an extra special train cake!

She tried to get a picture with us, but really all we cared about was trying to get our fingers in the cake!

It was really good and we dug right in!

Thanks to everyone for making our second year so special! We have a lot up our sleeves for this next year as two year olds! :)

Guess what this boy did today?

I went potty on the potty chair all by myself!!!!!!

Britty was getting Patrick dressed after our tubby, so I sat myself down on the potty chair in the bathroom and did what I needed to do. When Britty came to get me to get dressed she got quite the surprise! I even got to call Momma and Nana on the phone to tell them what a big boy I am! I'm growing up so fast!!

Gold Medalists

Today we graduated from the next level of baby gymnastics and were given a gold medal for all our hard work! Before we get to the medal ceremony, here's some shots of us in action!

Pretty amazing, right?! In all fairness, Aidan can do it, too. Brittany was just too slow with the camera when he did it. We learned a lot this semester and we can't wait to go back and do more!

And now for the gold medal ceremony! We got to walk up the stairs and receive our medal one at a time. They were even playing the olympic ceremony music in the background! Up first was Aidan!

A toddler first

There comes a time in every man's life when he has to pack up his most precious belongings and move out of his parents house....









and into a FORT! We made our first fort this week and we are loving it!

We think it is so fun to crawl out underneath the blankets!

Just be careful you don't bonk your head!

If you need us, we'll be in the fort!

A year in pictures

2010 was a big year for us, so here's a look back at some of the highlights of our first complete calendar year:

In JANUARY we:

...had our first encounter with snow

...took our first tubby together in the big boy tub

...got lots of bumps and bruises

...moved into our new house!

In FEBRUARY we:

...fell in love with macaroni and cheese

...got our first haricuts

...and turned one year old!

In MARCH we:

...went to our first baby class with Brittany - story time at the library

...discovered our love for the park

...and got really sick while Mom and Dad were on vacation

In APRIL we:

...cheered on the Twins

...started wanting to do everything all by ourselves

...and got into as much trouble as we could!

In MAY we:

...checked out the indoor park

...at lots of picnic snacks while watching for the school bus

...and Aidan started walking!!

In JUNE we:

...did lots of playing with our new basement toys

...made our first art projects at school

...and did LOTS of playing outside!

In JULY we:

...made lots of messes

...went to a splash park

...and Patrick started walking!!

In AUGUST we:

...went to the museum for kids

...graduated from our first baby gymnastics class

In SEPTEMBER we:

...got new chairs

...went to our first day of toddler preschool

...did LOTS of laughing

...and got to meet some policemen!

In OCTOBER we:

...learned how to make leaf piles and jump in them

...started our love for babies

...and were the cutest lion and duck you've ever seen!

In NOVEMBER we:

...got in a few more trips to the park before it snowed

...and discovered how much fun it is to wear hats

In DECEMBER we:

...continued being silly toddlers

...and enjoyed LOTS of presents and time with our family!

WOW! That was one crazy year! We can't wait to see how much bigger we'll be at the end of 2011!
